Summerlee, the Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge, is set to entertain visitors this Fair Monday - Monday 16 July - with a range of activities and entertainment at its local holiday fun day.

Down by the canal there will be a chance to see Archie McCrone's birds of prey on display - including Edward, the European Eagle Owl plus Oscar the Little Owl, Bonnie the Barn Owl and Misty the Snowy Owl. Other raptors present will include Buzz the Buzzard; Flame the Ferruginous Hawk and Percy the Peregrine Falcon.
Museums business manager Laura Eales said: "Fair Monday at Summerlee is always a special event - we have a real 'start of the holidays' feel and for those not stuck in an airport queue or traffic jam our programme gives families an ideal day out. Our regular attractions of the tram rides, mine tours and huge exhibition hall with working machinery means there is lots to see and do, no matter what the weather..!"
Admission to the event is free, with a small charge made for tram tickets, rides and some craft activities. Please note that Summerlee does not allow animals on site, apart from registered guide or assistance dogs.
