The body of a 46 year old man was discovered in Motherwell on 3rd February.
The man has been formally identified as Thomas Brown, of Stanton Crescent in Wishaw. He had been reported missing by family members on 1st February, after he was last seen on 21st January.
His body was discovered in the wooded area located between Dalriada Crescent and Wood Crescent in Motherwell. This area is known locally as "Glebe Woods". His death is currently being treated as unexplained and Strathclyde Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have information regarding Mr Brown's movements between 21st January and 3rd February.
Officers are particularly keen to trace three people who were spotted walking close to Glebe Woods on Dalriada Crescent around 3.20pm on 21st January. Police believe they may have information that could assist the enquiry.
Thomas is described as having short cropped greying hair and was wearing a black anorak, blue jeans and dark brown Timberland boots. He was carrying a black rucksack with an orange Umbro logo and riding a light silver-coloured mountain bike.
