Two men were arrested in separate incidents on Saturday night for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.
The first incident took place around 7.50pm on Saturday 21st January when a 19 year old male from the Glasgow area was arrested on Philip Murray Road in Bellshill for driving a vehicle allegedly under the influence of drugs. Officers from Bellshill Police Office spotted the man's black Honda being driven erratically and upon searching the vehicle found several pieces of drug paraphernalia. The male was taken to Motherwell Police Office. He was later released and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal's office in Hamilton.
The second incident occurred later that same evening, at around 11.30pm on the town's Motherwell Road. A 27 year old man was spotted by Road Policing Officers from Motherwell and was found to be allegedly under the influence of illegal drugs whilst driving his black Volkswagen Golf. The man was taken to Motherwell Police Office and later released on report. Again, a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in Hamilton.
