Three Scottish restaurants have been successful in gaining new Michelin stars.
Glenapp Castle in South Ayrshire, Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond and Castle Terrace in Edinburgh have all successfully won the desirable star.
Castle Terrace opened in July 2010 and is run by the same team involved in The Kitchin, Tom Kitchin's famous restaurant in Leith. Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond is the restaurant located in the Cameron House Hotel on the banks of the loch. Glenapp Castle in Ballantrae is run by Adam Stokes and has already been awarded four AA rosettes.
This means that the number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Scotland now stands at 16. Two restaurants were unsuccessful in keeping hold of their star, the Plumed Horse in Edinburgh and Champany Inn in Linlithgow.
Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles is the only Scottish restaurant to hold two Michelin stars.
